Jens Y Humrich, MD, is a specialized internist and rheumatologist and currently holds a position as Consultant at the Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology of the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein in Lübeck, Germany. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Rheumatology at Charité – University Medicine in Berlin, Germany. In parallel he worked as a research fellow and group leader at the German Arthritis Research Center (DRFZ) in Berlin.
His research mainly focuses on the role of IL-2 and regulatory T cells in the pathogenesis and treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other autoimmune diseases. He was substantially involved in the pre-clinical development and clinical translation of low-dose IL-2 therapy in SLE and he is principal investigator for several clinical trials in SLE.
