British Society for Immunology Congress 2017 | 4 - 7 December, Brighton UK

About us

The British Society for Immunology (BSI) is a charity that represents scientists and clinicians who study the immune system. We are one of the oldest, largest, and most active immunology societies in the world.

The BSI’s mission is to promote excellence in immunological research, scholarship and clinical practice in order to improve human and animal health. We accomplish this by:

  • Working with our members to support current and future generations of immunologists.
  • Sharing our passion for immunology through meetings, publications and the media.
  • Building up an understanding of our work by engaging with the public and those working in the research and health environments.
  • Working with partners in pursuit of our mission, building on common interests

You can find out more about our work on our website.

Our flagship event is the BSI Congress. This is the largest national immunology Congress in Europe, and in 2016 attracted over 1,500 attendees. The Congress was established in 1993 and is held every two out three years. Attendees are drawn from all sectors of the immunological community, from basic science researchers to clinical immunologists. The BSI has long been committed to providing access to these, and additional meetings, and to developing programmes in research, public engagement and education.
