Tapio Lonnberg

University of Turku, Finland

Tapio Lönnberg received his PhD in 2012 from the University of Turku, Finland.

His research focuses on understanding the state transitions of immune cells in health and disease through single-cell omics. During his postdoctoral work with Dr. Sarah Teichmann at the EMBL-EBI and Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, he pioneered the use of single-cell RNA sequencing in the study of in vivo T cell responses.

Currently he continues the development and implementation of single-cell approaches in various experimental models as a senior scientist at the Finnish Functional Genomics Centre, University of Turku, Finland.
